The Finance Directorate is responsible for the management of the University's financial affairs with the vision to protect, build and enhance the University's financial position. It contributes to the strategy and direction of the University and provides financial advice and support.
We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Business Finance Support Officer within the Finance Business Partnering Team, to assist in the provision of reporting as well as helping to develop existing systems and reports to meet both internal and external requirements. The post holder will work with a range of stakeholders within the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences, and will be based at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School. This is a permanent appointment.
This position will suit an individual who enjoys a challenge, who is interested in making a difference and is keen to work with different teams within the schools. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to build and maintain strong communication links and strategic partnerships internally with academic staff and with central and School/Directorate administrative teams.
Your priorities will include:
* Working as part of a finance team helping to successfully deliver a professional service to a portfolio of schools and/or directorates
* Supporting continuous improvement across the operational business; promoting best practice, facilitating change, ensuring that internal financial controls are robust and that new corporate finance initiatives are supported and implemented
* Liaising with budget holders to enable preparation of budgets and forecasts.
* Dealing with enquiries and coding queries from budget holders
* Journal processing ensuring that deadlines are met
* Assisting with the year-end process
* Balance Sheet reconciliations ensuring any anomalies are investigated
* Monitoring new non-research projects and contracts and ensuring invoices are raised timeously and expenditure recorded accurately
