Job Description
Insane Root Theatre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Theatre Technical Manager to oversee the technical aspects of our site-specific production of Henry V, which features an all-female/non-binary cast, to be performed at the Temple Church, Redcliffe from 19th June - 2nd Aug 2025. The production is supported with Arts Council England funding and partnering with English Heritage and Temple & Redcliffe BID.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all technical elements of the production during the final week of rehearsals and during Production week, including sound, lighting, set design, and stage management.
* Collaborate closely with directors, designers, and the production team to execute the technical vision of the show.
* Manage the setup and breakdown of the outdoor performance space, ensuring all equipment is utilized safely and effectively.
* Coordinate with various departments, including costumes, props, and stage management, lighting designer, and sound designer for seamless integration of technical elements.
* Conduct technical rehearsals and provide support during performances, maintaining a safe working environment for the cast and crew.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise throughout the production process.
* Maintain an organized inventory of all technical equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in proper working order.
Who We Are Looking For
* Proven experience as a Technical Manager or in a similar role within theatre or live performance environments, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
* Familiarity with sound and lighting design, set construction, and stage management.
* Familiarity with the unique challenges associated with outdoor performances.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work in a diverse and inclusive setting.
* Ideally local to the Bristol area or with a base in or nearby.
