Join our dynamic team as a Specialist Occupational Therapist! We're seeking a motivated individual to work in our established inpatient medical therapy team at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
You will provide care across clinical areas including but not exclusive to Older people, General Medicine, accident and emergency, oncology, Respiratory medicine, and supporting H-fast Discharge to assess models. With structured supervision, CPD opportunities, and a chance to shape service development, you'll thrive in our supportive, integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team.
We're looking for someone with experience of working in an acute NHS or social care setting. We would also welcome interest from Band 5's seeking the opportunity to work towards a B6 role as part of a development post. The post holder should have excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving positive change. A British driving license and access to a car are essential.
Main duties of the job
The department and team offers a wide range of experience. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching, and leadership skills as well as contribute towards service development and service evaluation. The department has a strong commitment to CPD, a comprehensive IST programme and dedicated time for your ongoing professional development.
You will be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work, including the management of patients in your care.
You are expected to undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies; use clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. To plan, prioritise and deliver clinical case work.

Person Specification
Experience
* Substantial post-graduate experience, including recent experience in the acute NHS or social care setting
* Previous experience of assessment and discharge planning in acute care or community settings
* Some experience of student supervision
Skills
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Competent in core areas of Occupational Therapy practice
Knowledge
* Specialist knowledge of current evidence-based best practice within acute care settings.
* Knowledge of general medical and acute conditions.
* Attendance on external post-graduate courses
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy Studies
* HCPC Registered
* Clinical Educators course
* RCOT
