World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives. We currently have an opportunity for a Project Lead to join our Technical Services team. Technical Services is a multi-disciplinary function that forms part of the Witney Operations Organisation. The key responsibilities of the Technical Services team include supporting strip and sensor manufacturing, on-market product, process and/or material changes and transfer of new products and materials from R&D into Operations. In this role, you will manage small to medium sized technical projects including all stages of planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation. You will also maintain all relevant project documentation, including but not limited to project plans, schedule/work breakdown structures, meeting minutes, and reports, providing progress updates to teams as appropriate. One of the key aspects of the role will be to develop and implement a set of best practices and guidelines for on-market Material changes working with material experts and cross-functional team, ensuring efficient and consistent approach across an increasing number of important business initiatives, whilst maintaining adherence to Abbott Quality Policies and Procedures. Your interactions will be wide, and you will work with many teams across our business, including R&D, Engineering, and wider Operations team. To be successful, you will bring experience from a project-based role – you may not have been a Project Lead or Manager, but will have been a key part of a project team, with a good understanding and experience of applying project management methodologies. An advanced level education is required, along with strong skills in the MS Office space, with experience in MS Project preferable. Experience in product development, manufacturing, or a scientific environment is required; Exposure to regulated environment is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but also interact on a wider business scale, leading and influencing where necessary. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing and dynamic environment.
