Park Blue Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Home Deputy Manager to join our company in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
This is a unique and rare opportunity to join a progressive and trauma informed group of Children’s Homes with a focus on upholding the values and guidelines of a Therapeutic Community. The home is a five bed residential home specialising in providing care for young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Salary: £32,000 per annum depending on experience, plus bonuses, pension, and other benefits. 28 days annual leave plus 3 paid wellness shifts per year. Paid sleep ins are £63/night which included at one per week gives an average deputy salary of £34,276.
Shift patterns: will include some on-shift working 07.30-21.30 (two shifts) and some administrative shifts 08.30-16.30.

This role is a key leadership role where the Deputy Manager will assist the Manager in the day to day running of the Home, ensuring all children and staff are sufficiently safeguarded, supervised and mentored. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting the manager in the management, co-ordination, and development of quality therapeutic services.
* Ensuring the Home exceeds all standards as stated in the Children’s Home Regulations 2015.
* Promoting relationships as central to the working practice of our Homes.
* Providing effective leadership and coordinating the staff team.
* Promoting team development and effective team working.
* Involving in reflective practice and ensuring meaningful supervision for team members.
* Ensuring accurate paperwork in the Home and implementing necessary documentation.
* Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
* Managing finance budgets and records in accordance with procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
* MUST have experience in Residential Children’s Social Care with a minimum of one year’s experience, ideally as a senior support worker.
* Understanding of Trauma Informed Care and a willingness to learn.
* Strong leadership and effective communication skills.
* Hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare.
* UK Driving License.
* Confidence and Understanding of The Children’s Home Regulations.
* A clear DBS and positive references.
* The ability to deal with challenging situations in a nurturing way.
