Postdoctoral Research Associate: The Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, located in Oxford, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology Research (KTRR) funded project focused on understanding the biophysical determinants of cell fate decisions in skin inflammatory diseases. Join the interdisciplinary laboratory of Dr. Adrien Hallou and be part of groundbreaking research utilizing spatial mechano-transcriptomics to investigate skin inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis at single-cell resolution.

Postdoctoral Associate Experimental Tissue Biology/Biophysics Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, Oxford, UK
* PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a relevant field
* Extensive research experience and specialist knowledge of experimental skin biology/biophysics and/or adult epithelial stem cell biology/biophysics
* Experience with single-cell and spatial omics experiments and/or data analysis
* Ability to obtain a Home Office Personal license
* Desirable: experience in soft tissue sample collection, preparation, and imaging techniques such as histology, immunofluorescence, confocal and live fluorescence microscopy, and tissue explant/organoid cultures
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, your responsibilities will include:
* Managing an interdisciplinary research program and associated administrative activities
* Contributing scientific ideas for new research projects and representing the research group at external meetings/seminars
* Advising other group members on scientific protocols and experimental techniques
* Providing supervision, training, and mentorship to technical staff and research students
* Contributing to the KTRR-funded project on the biophysical determinants of cell fate decisions in skin inflammatory diseases
* Utilizing spatial mechano-transcriptomics to characterize spatial changes in cell and tissue mechanics and gene expression at single-cell resolution
* Collaborating with researchers at Columbia University (USA) and the University of Cambridge (UK)
* Ensuring compliance with university and regulatory requirements
