Job summary Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) is excited to expand the Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) programme, ensuring that by 2028/2029, 100% of eligible population across Suffolk and North East Essex will have access to the programme. Initially launched in May 2023, the programme has now been confirmed to transition into a National Lung Cancer Screening Programme. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Band 7 Lead Nurse/Responsible Assessor to oversee and lead the TLHC Programme at ESNEFT. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, radiologists, service providers and support from nursing and administrative staff. You will act as a key resource and advocate, providing expert clinical care to patients, engaging in service development, and aligning local practices with national standards and guidelines. Main duties of the job To support and lead the work of the TLHC Programme as the Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) Responsible Assessor providing clinical support and expertise to respiratory patients and other healthcare professionals within the Trust and within the community where applicable. To provide a high standard of nursing care and to develop existing knowledge and skills to benefit patients in the THLC Programme. To act as a respiratory and oncology nursing resource giving advice and psychological support to patients, carers and health care professionals. To review nursing practice and support the implementation of appropriate changes based on research, best practice, TLHC protocol and national guidelines. To support clinical data validation of the TLHC continuous audit, quality and risk management initiatives.
