Where you can join us in this role You can be based in any of our collaborative and welcoming offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, and St Albans. Here’s what you’ll do: The primary objective of this role is to assist the team in the development and delivery of cable systems activities. You’ll also be contributing your technical expertise into bids and proposals and to represent the company in client meetings as appropriate. Your main cable systems design activities in this role includes: HVDC/HVAC cable calculations: develop cable burial route risk assessments, landfall, and cable protection systems for offshore, subsea applications. Gathering and correlating engineering data: using established and well-defined procedures, and generating detailed cable reports. Developing detailed offshore routine engineering assignments: HVAC/HVDC, IAC and export cable design, for both static and dynamic systems. Proposing approaches to solve problems encountered: using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Reviewing and optimising: design, routing, installation, commissioning and de-commissioning solutions. Your projects will include: HVDC Interconnectors HVAC Interconnectors HVAC and HVDC Offshore Windfarm projects Your role will give you opportunities to: Perform work in accordance with the agreed budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently perform the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works to standard and compliant regulations. Coordinate across project disciplines, external subcontractors and remote offices such that technical risks are identified and mitigated, and all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
