The Opportunity: Due to continued business growth, we are excited to announce an opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join our dynamic Subsurface Engineering UK North team on a permanent basis. Based in either our Manchester or Birmingham office, this role will report directly to the Head of Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong surveying and project management expertise to make a significant impact across a diverse range of high-profile projects within the rapidly evolving Geospatial industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, overseeing survey operations, and ensuring successful project delivery in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. What will I be doing in my new role? Taking overall responsibility for the operations of the Subsurface Engineering UK North department. Ensuring efficient scheduling of staff and equipment on projects Collaborating with the Head of Department, Managing Director and the Finance department to ensure projects are monitored and delivered to budgets. Providing a superior service to clients including quotations and the delivery of key data and tender submissions Quality assurance of work undertaken within the department Promoting and ensuring Health & Safety compliance across the department Involvement in departmental recruitment including the facilitation of training Site/Survey activities as required for project delivery Communicating effectively with other departments regarding technical procedures and workflows. Requirements of the role: Ability to work out of our Manchester or Birmingham office A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Surveyor in their field (proving competency) Degree in surveying (or related field) desirable Health, Safety and Environmental Training – SPA, RAMS, lone working etc CSCS Card Relevant Management Training Valid UK manual drivers’ licence Ability to travel nationwide when required What key attributes do I need?
