Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is recruiting for a Domestic Assistant based at Whitchurch Hospital. Working as a Domestic Assistant you will be maintaining the high levels of cleanliness throughout the hospital, whilst adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are reliable, flexible, well organised, self-motivated, have good interpersonal communication skills and are able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
* Completing cleaning schedules on a daily basis.
* Ensuring the correct use of mechanical cleaning equipment.
* Ensuring stock is maintained, ensuring the correct use of cleaning materials.
Uniform, as provided, must be worn at all times in the hospital environment and must not be worn to and from work. A high standard of personal hygiene must be obtained.

Person specification
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of importance of cleanliness in health care environment.
* General awareness of safety.
* Good organisational skills.
Experience
* Experience of cleaning which includes mopping, hoovering and dusting.
Training and Qualifications
* Ability to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
