About the Role: This role is perfect for someone looking to gain valuable experience in communications and events, while receiving comprehensive training. You'll learn from experienced professionals, and learn how to create impactful communications for a range of audiences. As a Communications and Events Apprentice, you will support the Brand and Communications team by ensuring high quality administrative support within a range of areas: You'll be involved in: Drafting and preparing internal communications. Editing our website to ensure the information is up to date. Assisting with administration for a range of events including the internal 'behind the science' day and public engagement events such as talks and activities at the Cambridge Festival. Undertaking routine tasks such as compiling metrics from our social media channels and website use to help us create more impactful communications. Assisting with photography and filming. The apprenticeship is for a fixed term of 18 months. The role includes completing the Level 3 Business Support Administration apprenticeship qualification using the skills and knowledge that you will have built up to complete your projects and assignments. Essential Skills: Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C (4) or above, including English and Maths Interest in Communications and Events administration and commitment to completing the Level 3 Business Support Administration apprenticeship qualification Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Strong customer-facing skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Teamwork and collaboration Upon accepting the offer, the successful candidate will undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records) check and a security check.The post is offered to internal candidates only on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
