Fawkes and Reece are currently working with a leading contractor who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their dynamic team. Our client specialises in building state-of-the-art warehouses, based near Maidstone.
Key Responsibilities for an Estimator
Analyse project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information.
Research and source materials, equipment, and labour costs for the project.
Prepare and maintain detailed cost breakdowns and tender documentation.
Assist in value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
Monitor market trends to anticipate fluctuations in costs and availability.
Present estimates to senior management and clients with confidence and clarity.
Contribute to risk analysis and contingency planning for the project.
Key Requirements for an Estimator
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with projects of a similar scale and complexity.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors.
Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar).
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
