Role Overview
As a Trainee Security Engineer, you will work alongside Senior Engineers, gaining practical experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems. In the first few weeks, you’ll undergo intensive training in our core services and safety protocols, preparing you to assist with first-fix installations, cable-pulling, and site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Assistance with Installations: Support Senior Engineers in installing CCTV, intruder alarms, networking equipment, and gate and intercom systems.
* First-Fix Support: Assist with initial tasks such as cable-pulling, prepping equipment, and ensuring sites remain safe and organised.
* Site Maintenance: Keep work areas clear of obstructions and waste, ensuring safety for the team and clients.
* Client Relations: Build positive client relationships on-site, enhancing the company’s reputation through professionalism and service.
* Knowledge Building: Observe and learn from Senior Engineers, taking notes, asking questions, and practicing tasks to build hands-on experience.
* Commitment to Training: Engage in structured training programs and complete both on-site and off-site coursework to expand your technical skill set.
Progression Path and Tiered Salary Structure
The Trainee Security Engineer role offers a clear pathway for growth, with performance reviews and salary adjustments based on your progress and newly acquired skills.
Starting Tier
* Salary: £14,040 (Pro Rata based on £23,400 Annual)
* Requirements: Initial 6 months, completing foundational training and supporting installations under supervision.
Mid-Tier
* Salary: £15,600 Actual (Pro Rata based on £26,000 Annual)
* Requirements: After 6 months, demonstrate independent ability with basic installations and equipment servicing. Promotion is at Manager's discretion, based on factors in the Personal Development Plan (PDP).
* Benefits: Company van, phone, and laptop provided.
Upper Tier
* Salary: £28,000 Annual Full-Time Position
* Requirements: Minimum 12 months in the role, successful independent work for 6 months, installation of complex systems, and fault-finding expertise across various systems. Promotion is at Manager's discretion, as detailed in the PDP.
