We currently have vacancies within our Specialist Intensive Care Unit at the Churchill Hospital (CICU) and Oxford Critical Care (OCC). Main duties of the job
As a member of the Critical Care team, the healthcare support worker must be able to prioritise and contribute to the delivery of high standards of care to patients, families and their carers in a safe and supportive environment under the direction of a registered practitioner. The healthcare support worker will assist in developing and maintaining services provided to patients and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area/department while maintaining the dignity and privacy of all patients and their families and carers and respecting their right to confidentiality at all times.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be expected to complete the care certificate if you have not already done so or provide evidence of prior achievement. If you have already achieved the care certificate, you will be required to demonstrate that you have achieved and are maintaining the attitudes, behaviours and knowledge required to care for our patients to a high standard through self-assessment and observations. In addition, you will be required to complete and maintain any occupationally relevant proficiencies, for critical care this includes undertaking and completing the ‘National Competency Framework for Health Care Support Workers in Adult Critical Care’, at Supportive Level (Band 2). These competencies will help develop specialist skills and knowledge to support critically unwell patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
