Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer required for my manufacturing and production client, based in Warrington.
The successful graduate mechanical design engineer will work directly under the Engineering or R&D Manager. They will help get involved in the mechanical design of innovative products and bespoke customer solutions.
Job Overview
* Produce designs to meet defined specifications (3D CAD, general assembly and detailed manufacturing drawings).
* Review and improve existing designs for cost-effective manufacturing across the full product range.
* Produce conceptual designs to support proposals and quotations, developing new custom solutions to meet client's needs.
* Prepare parts lists / bills of materials.
* Take a leading role within design reviews to explore concepts and identify design strengths and weaknesses to optimise solutions.
* Review and improve existing designs by introducing value engineering across the full product range.
* Research and introduce new manufacturing techniques that may be appropriate.
* Research third party components that may be suitably integrated into systems.
* Produce documentation to support equipment assembly, operation and maintenance meeting applicable standards.
Job Requirements
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
* 2 years' mechanical design experience of using CAD systems, ideally Inventor.
* Open to hands-on aspects of design engineering.
* Based within a commutable distance of Warrington.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary - £28,000 to £30,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
* Full time position - Monday to Friday.
* 22 days holiday plus the 8 statutory / bank holiday days.
