Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. Please see details below for the full job advert: Location: Norfolk Salary: £14.00 - £15.28 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Monday - Friday - 8.30am - 4.30pm (5pm on Thursday, extra half hour taken off on another day) The role: They’re currently looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join the school. The successful candidate will support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class and to teach whole classes, groups and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes. Experience: Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:
* Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
* To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.
* Support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a class teacher.
* Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities
* Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
* Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment
* Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
* Be a role model for new staff and supervise and guide less experienced TAs.
* Further professional development by engaging in reflective practices and continuous professional development and appraisal, including attending all statutory training provided by the school.
* Contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events.
* Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and undertake duties and tasks to the highest ability to achieve the smooth running of the school.
* The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
* GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required. Skills & Qualifications:
* Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD and ASD
* Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
* Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
* Experience working within education is advantageous
* Experience of working within a multi-cultural, inclusive setting
