Job Description
As a Manufacturing Dimensional Engineer you will help us deliver a new low volume BiW production facility. The team will be responsible for the dimensional quality output from this bodyshop in terms of achieving KPI’s and ensuring downstream customer issues are resolved. We are looking to grow the team with a manager, lead engineer and engineers.
Accountabilities and responsibilities:
* Be responsible for each zone’s quality performance (process and customer). Use of standard roadmaps to report improvements against deadlines
* Complete assembly tooling commissioning activities
* Launch and post launch manufacturing experience is a must. This is not a design based role. You will be active with a team solving day to day issues.
* Develop Commissioning plans for each build phase, ensuring sufficient time to commission measurement programmes and to gather measurement data for maturation
* Support build and commissioning of bodyshop, with responsibility of and accountability to achieve dimensional quality targets, both process related, and product/ downstream customer related.
* Review Part Shifted Tolerance Requests, ensuring deviations have no detrimental impact on vehicle quality
* Monitor, review, improve and report out Dimensional Metrics and Roadmaps and all required forums
* Run Virtual and/or Physical Matching events – Exterior Co-Ordination Fixtures (ECF) and Part Co-Ordination Fixtures (PCF)
Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree, HMD/C in a relevant Engineering discipline.
* Automotive background – with understanding of Manufacturing Processes (ideally Body-in-White and General Assembly).
* Experience of launching a new vehicle into production.
