We're currently working with a manufacturer in Tredegar who are recruiting a skilled maintenance individual. Candidates with injection moulding or automotive manufacturing experience are of great interest to them!
The shift pattern is Days & Afternoons Monday to Thursday (2 weeks of 6.30am – 4.15 pm Mon – Thurs and 1 week of afternoons 11.30am- 9.15 Mon – Thurs on a rotating pattern).
The Role
As part of a core maintenance team, respond to and resolve equipment breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance and improvement schemes on equipment.
Duties:
1. Part of a 2-man team, you will carry out tasks unsupervised, having the ability to work without immediate support to resolve all equipment breakdowns.
2. Complete improvement tasks/planned maintenance when not tackling breakdowns.
3. Support Maintenance Foreman in achieving all maintenance tasks.
4. Good electrical & mechanical skill/understanding to tackle breakdowns, proactive maintenance, preventative maintenance, and improvements.
5. Familiar with fault finding in panels, inverters, motors, switchgear, installation work, P.L.Cs (Siemens S5 & S7).
6. Hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, press and injection moulding experience beneficial but not essential.
The Person
1. Must have undertaken a 4-year indentured apprenticeship.
2. City & Guilds or O.N.C in mechanical or electrical engineering is a benefit.
3. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment will be an advantage.
4. Understanding of HSE Policies.
5. Problem-solving techniques.
