Our client is a leading FM Service Provider and is recruiting for a Head of Estates to deliver the Hard FM services on a Healthcare account. In the role of Head of Estates, you will have responsibility for leading the engineering department with full responsibility for the P&L of £3m plus additional works and projects.

As Head of Estates, you will lead the front-line management team responsible for delivering high-quality FM services through our PFI contract. This role involves overseeing planned preventative maintenance, reactive services, and resource management to ensure that client needs are met while adhering to strict service level agreements (SLAs). You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and optimizing financial performance within agreed budgets.

What you'll do:
1. Manage the day-to-day delivery of hard FM services, including planned and reactive maintenance.
2. Lead and develop a team including finance assistants, helpdesk operatives, and maintenance supervisors.
3. Foster strong relationships with NHS Trust representatives and service partners.
4. Ensure all services comply with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
5. Achieve financial targets by optimizing resources and minimizing unavailability penalties.
6. Attend stakeholder meetings to monitor service delivery and drive improvements.
What you bring:
Essential:
1. Previous experience managing FM Contracts and influencing change where required, along with a customer-facing attitude and excellent team-building/people management skills.
2. Experience in coaching and influencing teams.
3. Services management experience of people and commercial issues.
4. Must satisfy a DBS check and health check.
5. Good communication skills with the mental agility to 'think on feet' and provide convincing practical solutions.
6. Good people-management skills.
7. Strong analytical skills with a strong bias towards P&L financial management.
8. Intelligent approach to performance monitoring including relevant experience.
9. Well-developed coordination skills.
10. Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word & Microsoft Office.
11. Experience of working to ISO 9001 or similar quality system.
12. Available to respond to out-of-normal-hours emergency situations.
Desirable:
1. Professional Member of BIFM.
2. Qualified to ONC/HNC standard in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Building Services or Building.
3. Preferably NEBOSH Qualified.
4. Previous experience within the PFI arena.
