Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients, ensuring services align with primary care contracts. Your responsibilities will include managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing in line with national guidelines, and handling administrative tasks such as referrals and prescriptions. You will participate in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis, maintain accurate clinical records, and adhere to best practices and audit recommendations.
Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support QOF targets, and take on delegated responsibilities within the practice. You will attend practice meetings, engage in clinical governance, and participate in medical student training. Ensuring compliance with appraisals and professional development, you will also collaborate with the wider team to enhance service delivery, financial sustainability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care in line with NHS guidelines and best practices.
2. Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations, diagnosing and treating a range of medical conditions.
3. Prescribe medication and treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines.
4. Manage long-term conditions and provide proactive, preventative healthcare.
5. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare assistants.
6. Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
7. Support and mentor junior staff and trainees, if applicable.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our practice IT system.
9. Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and keep up to date with medical advancements.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
* Experience working as a GP in a primary care setting.
* Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously.
* Additional specialist interests (e.g., minor surgery, women's health, chronic disease management).
* Experience in leadership, teaching, or research.
* Knowledge of local healthcare systems and pathways.
