We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable field representative, with a smart, commercially mature and articulate appearance to promote and consult with clients on our range of protective solutions, which includes stab resistant body armour, cut and slash resistant clothing, and other specially designed protective solutions for the healthcare and education sector.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE), excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with key clients in the sectors where our products are needed.
This role involves on-site client visits, product demonstrations, and providing expert guidance on the best solutions to meet our clients' needs. A passion for safety is a must, and a proactive approach to customer satisfaction are essential.
Specific skills we’re looking for:
* Product Knowledge – An understanding of PPE and safety standards would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
* Negotiation – Ability to promote products in a consultative way, advising clients appropriately.
* Client Relationship Management – Strong skills in building and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships with senior figures.
* Communication Skills – Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to explain technical details clearly. Experience of public speaking would be advantageous.
* Presentation & Demonstration – Ability to effectively demonstrate product features in person to a variety of audiences which could include CEOs, company directors and other senior figures.
* Problem Solving – Capable of assessing client needs and offering tailored solutions.
* Market Awareness – Attain and retain up to date knowledge of trends in the PPE, law enforcement, and security industries.
* Time Management – Efficiently managing travel, appointments, and follow-ups.
* Adaptability – Being flexible in dealing with different client environments and requirements.
These skills will enable the successful candidate to effectively represent the company and support our sales team in meeting sales targets while ensuring client and stakeholder satisfaction.
Desired experience we’re looking for:
* Background in Emergency Services, Security, Violence Reduction, Crime Prevention, Prison Service or Military – First-hand knowledge or experience working in those areas is crucial to understanding client needs and challenges.
* Experience in PPE – Prior experience consulting on or selling personal protective equipment (PPE) would be advantageous, however, a very detailed handover will take place between the successful applicant and the current post holder.
* Product Demonstration – Hands-on experience with live product demonstrations and training, ideally with protective equipment or technical products.
* Consultative Selling Approach – Experience in consultative sales, advising clients on the best solutions based on their specific needs. This is not a role for a pushy salesperson; the products sell themselves very well.
* Industry Networking – Established network of contacts in the PPE industries, enabling easier relationship-building and trust would be advantageous.
* Customer Service Experience – A history of troubleshooting issues and providing post-sales support for clients with any technical problems or queries.
This is a very niche role, promoting and educating our clients at senior level about our products in industries where the safety of personnel is paramount. The successful applicant will have to have a very measured balance in their approach between selling and being consultative. The applicant will also need to be very comfortable and confident communicating and demonstrating with a variety of audiences, which will include very senior figures in large organisations and companies throughout the UK.
