Finance Transactions Lead - Accounts Payable
This role will provide significant leadership to the Accounts Payable, Fundraising, and Treasury Teams, ensuring transactions are dealt with in an efficient, correct, and timely manner. The Operations team are integral to the smooth and efficient running of the organisation ensuring that St John people, customers and suppliers are fully supported in all their transactional requirements. This role is responsible for technical support and enquiry resolution, dealing with complex and escalated queries from St John people and suppliers, and in support of operational teams across St John.
FINANCE TRANSACTIONS LEAD (FIXED TERM CONTRACT – MATERNITY COVER)
St John are looking for a dynamic and experienced Finance Transactions Lead to come and be part of our in-house Shared Services Team.
The role will be based at our shared services centre in Sheffield where you will have on-site parking and can work in a hybrid model once your training has been completed.
The Shared Services Centre (SSC) provides a wide range of administrative services supporting the day-to-day activities of St John, including Finance, People, Property, Events and Fleet. The role of the SSC is fundamental to the success of St John.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4) including Maths & English, minimum 5, successfully led and managed teams (including matrix management) within an operational service delivery or shared services environment and strong stakeholder management experience.
About the Role
* Establish, lead, guide, and develop a team of high performing administrators and specialists who are responsible for delivering a range of finance transactional services on behalf of St John Ambulance.
* Ensure monthly supplier reconciliations are completed on all accounts; identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure the account is up to date.
* Resolving financial transactional requests, liaising with the operational team(s), wider departments, and suppliers to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Plan for the management of weekly, monthly, and annual workloads across each service area.
