Semi Senior Accountant

Dains Accountants are recruiting a Semi Senior Accountant to join our Leicester Accounts team to deliver high quality general accounting services to our clients.
You will play a pivotal part in the team by preparing accounts for unincorporated and incorporated businesses, completing VAT returns and other general accounting tasks, alongside building long lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities as Semi Senior Accountant:
* Working closely with other members of the team to provide sufficient accounting services to a variety of clients.
* Preparing accounts for unincorporated/incorporated businesses.
* Analysing account figures to spot trends and variances and identify any issues to the senior team.
* High involvement in processing year end accounts and tax compliance queries.
* Involved in the preparation of management accounts.
* Processing VAT returns to a high standard.
* Forming client relationships across a range of businesses and sectors.
* Instrumental in mentoring and supporting trainee and junior team members.
Personal Attributes:
* AAT qualification and on the journey towards ACA/ACCA qualification.
* Strong knowledge of main accounting systems in the marketplace (e.g., Sage, XERO, Quickbooks).
* Experience in bookkeeping, VAT returns and accounts preparation.
* Confident and articulate communicator, comfortable managing a varied workload and professional study time.
* Demonstrate a hands-on, proactive work ethic and supportive team approach.
