The post holder will be responsible for:
Delivery and development of the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Services within Central London Community Health Care Trust (CLCH).

Internal
To consistently communicate effectively with patients and carers/family via clear verbal, non-verbal, and written means to maximize rehabilitation potential. Use communication skills of negotiation, motivation, explanation, and reassurance while working with interpreters when required.
Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity whilst providing an appropriate level of care according to the needs of the patient.
Work with other members of the team including junior and senior staff.
External (if applicable)
Regularly liaise with local GPs and other Health Professionals regarding patient care and/or health promotion. Provide comprehensive discharge reports and clinical reports in a timely manner to referrers (such as GP) and patients, and other relevant multi-disciplinary team members.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Actively demonstrate leadership qualities in the support of peers and guidance of less experienced staff within clinical requirements.
2. Prioritize work balancing patient-related and professional demands in accordance with the guidelines of the section.
3. Attend appropriate meetings as required.
4. Ensure effective and efficient use of time with patients and for administrative duties.
5. Attend monthly Physiotherapy In-service Training and participate in offering specialized training to the Physiotherapy Service when required.
6. Attend Statutory and Mandatory Training as required by the Trust.

Our temporary staffing shifts are calculated hourly and paid weekly. You are paid only for the hours you actually work during any Assignment. Bank workers are paid on fixed third point based on the Agenda for Change (AFC) pay bands. Weekly pay will include: Basic pay and Unsocial hours (if applicable).
Job Responsibilities
1. Be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care. Ensure a consistently high level of clinical care for the patients under your management and support your peers to do likewise.
2. Provide an equal and equitable service for all patients, including the harder-to-reach population groups.
3. Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients, using investigative and analytical skills. Be aware of your professional limitations, seeking support as necessary through supervision, discussion with peers/more senior colleagues, and team case discussions.
4. Use a variety of assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to the patient, in accordance with evidence-based practice, national guidelines, and trust and departmental policy (including manual handling and confidentiality).
5. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity whilst providing an appropriate level of care for patients with acute and chronic, complex presentations (which may include victims of torture, mental health patients, etc.).
6. Triage referrals to ensure every patient is appropriate to the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Service in accordance with the triage guidelines.

Education/Qualification
Essential
* BSc Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
* Evidence of continuous professional and personal development
* Registration with the Health Professions Council
Desirable
* Member of a specialist group
* CSP membership
Experience
Essential
* Experience of working in an outpatient department
* Experience of working within NHS environment
* Experience of planning and delivering clinical supervision/mentoring to peers and less experienced physiotherapists
Desirable
* Experience of assisting in projects within the team
* Experience at Band 6 level
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and its influence on Service Development
* Knowledge of recent research supporting or negating physiotherapy management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions
* Knowledge of equal opportunities
* Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills in order to successfully assess and treat patients and manage their outcomes
Desirable
* Knowledge of NICE guidelines and the NSF's
* Presentation skills to lead and teach in-service training sessions
