24/7 Services is home to Cardiff Council’s fully equipped and accredited Alarm Receiving and CCTV Centre, the ARC. The ARC offers 24/7 365 CCTV and building alarm coverage to many of Cardiff council’s buildings. The Locality Warden team act as the response team for the control room. The team provide a community-based response to customers, complete building patrols and respond to various building alarms.
About the Job
We have the exciting opportunity for committed individuals to join our team. The team is responsible for providing a reliable and agile community response service in required buildings while maintaining a high level of security. This includes patrols of sites, challenging low-level anti-social behaviour, and responding to building alarms as directed by the CCTV control room. Locality Wardens are based within County Hall; however, the team works remotely for the majority of their day, visiting various sites and using appropriate technology to complete patrols and incident reports, remaining in contact with the CCTV control room at all times.
What We Are Looking For From You
Successful candidates are likely to be team players who work well under pressure and remain calm when dealing with challenging situations. We are looking for candidates who are strong communicators and can work independently, with the ability to speak multiple languages being desirable. Desirable candidates will have previous experience in the security industry; however, this is not essential. The role requires candidates to have good communication and ICT skills and the ability to produce written reports to a high standard, which will be assessed at interview.
Additional Information
The Control Room operates on a 24/7 basis, every day of the year including Public and Bank Holidays. An appropriate shift pattern is in place with relevant enhancements and allowances provided. This post is permanent and part-time, working 28 hours per week. Dependent on the shift pattern, the role will attract a 10% shift enhancement, evening rate enhancement of the hourly rate plus 1/3, weekend rate enhancement of the hourly rate plus ½, and all Bank Holidays worked will be paid at double time plus time in lieu. The role also offers overtime opportunities. Full training will be given. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Standard check. We welcome applications in both English and Welsh.
