An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced healthcare support worker. You must have excellent organisational skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player and have a genuine interest in working in the community. Previous community experience would be an advantage, as would phlebotomy skills. Patients are seen within own homes, and care homes in order to deliver excellent nursing care. The main focus of the team is preventing unnecessary admission, supporting earliest possible discharge from hospital and enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their homes. You will be required to support the District Nursing Team to deliver excellent evidence- based treatment and care to the practice population of house bound patients. You will be required to have knowledge and experience to be able to support this role and an appropriate SVQ is desirable. Our service offers regular supervision and supports training opportunities. You must have an ability to travel across the Fife-wide division if the service warrants it and to provide evening cover as required. You will be required to work within a 24- hour, 7- day Community Nursing Service. The post will include working weekends and public holidays. For informal enquiries, please contact DCN Simon Thompson: simon.thompsonnhs.scot. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board. NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.
