Occasional customer site visits
THE ROLE:
A great permanent job opportunity for a mechanical assembly technician / mechanical fitter who also has some experience of and enjoys working on customer sites.
Able to use hand and basic air tools to assemble largely mechanical products, though some electrical understanding and ability to use computers will be desirable.
When you have a good level of product understanding, you will also be confident to visit customer sites in order to provide support for installation, commissioning, and problem solving on the product.
It will be necessary to work with high accuracy and attention to detail to assemble special purpose equipment following engineering drawings. Product training is provided. Some experience assembling basic hydraulics, pneumatics, hoses, and associated pipework is ideal but not essential.
YOU:
To be successful in this role you should have:
1. Solid hands-on skills including mechanical assembly experience in a factory, workshop, or production type environment and be able to demonstrate your competence and commitment.
2. A plant or maintenance engineering type background will also be suitable.
3. A supporting qualification and a CSCS card will be helpful.
4. Ability to do basic fault finding and problem solving on your own work.
5. High accuracy and attention to detail, working to safe work methods and high quality standards.
6. Able to take responsibility for working safely on customer sites and interact positively with other trades and the client to support the product and deliver excellent customer service.
