We are seeking a responsible, attentive, and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Gateshead Leisure Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Leisure Centre during their shift including staff, customer service, safety, and security, whilst also ensuring that all areas of the centre run smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre during your shift, ensuring all areas are operating effectively and efficiently.
2. Oversee staff during your shift, providing guidance, support, and direction as needed.
3. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the leisure centre, conducting regular inspections and coordinating maintenance efforts as required.
4. Handle customer inquiries and issues, always providing high-quality customer service.
5. Assist in training staff and implementing operational procedures.
6. Work closely with the Centre Manager and other supervisors to ensure consistent and high-quality service.
7. Assist in managing operational costs and resources.
8. Handle any emergency situations in a calm and professional manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
9. Pool Plant operations including backwash and regular pool testing in COSHH regulations.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a leisure centre or similar facility.
2. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
3. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
4. First aid qualification is preferred or willing to work towards.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-stress situations.
