This impressive Manufacturer has won multiple awards and has a well-known name locally, with multiple sites. They have a very strong, impressive, experienced Finance team that works significantly well together, led by a valued and well-liked Finance Director who has guided them through multiple years of growth. This Finance Business Partner Job will work directly for the Finance Director but with a dotted line to the Operations Director, who also has an impressive background. They have sites globally, but this position will be based at one of their Lancashire sites, which is the biggest financial contributor to the group and also the most complex.
Finance Business Partner
This Finance Business Partner Job will focus on the group's biggest and most complex site, partnering with production, working closely with the site ops director, and providing a range of reporting analysis to support commercial decision-making across the wider business. Your role should have a positive direct impact throughout the business, driving performance to reduce costs and maximize margins. Your financial insights may be linked to logistics, costs, stock, spend, customers, suppliers, projects, production efficiency, labour, waste, etc.
As this role is new to the business, there are significant short-term gains to be had with the site you'll be focusing on, long-term with ongoing projects and additional sites, and for the wider business that has not had a commercial finance partner to support their budgets and analyze trends.
The Requirements
1. You must have manufacturing experience as you will need to demonstrate your experience and value add when partnering a production site alongside other commercial partnering.
2. You must be qualified or working towards qualification; ideally, you will be qualified.
3. You must have operated in an autonomous role; as this is a new position to the business, you will be shaping the role with the support of the FD and Ops Director, but essentially it will be on you to drive.
4. You must have significantly strong Excel skills, with strong ERP system experience; any supporting implementation experience will also be desirable.
Long-term, the progression route will essentially be shaped by the results of this role, including increasing headcount and building a team to support the other sites and operational leaders in a similar way to drive overall performance.
