As a Senior Radiographer at our Brentwood Hospital, you will work autonomously with specialist knowledge and skills to lead on the delivery of a high quality diagnostic imaging service through undertaking a wide / specialist range of radiographic examinations. You hold a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and be HCPC registered. With a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR and be able to undertake audits. Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable. We have a duty to apply to the DBS disclosure on successful candidates. As our Senior Radiographer, you will: Clinical • Perform radiological procedures as required, in accordance with department protocols and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IRMER). • Undertake specialist examinations within scope of practice. Leadership • Provide clinical leadership within a specialist field in Diagnostic Imaging, including some day-to-day supervision of staff within the department, including Induction, development and training, and input into recruitment and performance review. • Ensure work is carried out efficiently and to agreed working practices and protocols. • Represent the department at meetings and ensure that actions are followed through and feedback provided to the department. • Minutes of meetings. Health and Safety • Monitor and maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment. • Work alongside the Radiation Protection Supervisor or Deputy Radiation Protection Supervisor for the location, to assist in the monitoring, review, development and maintenance of systems of work that ensure radiation exposure is restricted. • Regularly monitor radiation safety and take appropriate action when any issues/problems are identified, in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures. • Undertake radiation safety training where required. • Monitoring of radiation incidents. Quality/Governance • Co-ordinate and participate in audits and the QA programme. • Review policies, procedures and protocols and make recommendations regarding their content and application within area of responsibility. • Up to date QA records. • Availability of current policies and SOPs.
