Clinical Team Lead / Advanced Clinical Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 8a Advanced Practitioner to join our team delivering high quality urgent care to our patients and families.
If you are looking for a new challenge, we are looking for an individual with confidence, enthusiasm, compassion and a positive approach to teamwork, with experience in an Emergency, Acute or Urgent Care setting. Candidates must hold either a Registered General Nurse or Paramedic qualification and possess the skills and motivation required to develop themselves and the service. It is essential that you have clinical expertise in independently managing an array of clinical conditions in adults and children. You will be responsible with a team of other 8a clinicians and practice educator for helping to lead and develop the service providing clinical excellence, leadership, mentoring, teaching, supervision, and appraisal. You will develop clinical pathways and review clinical effectiveness.
You will be integral in leading and developing our experienced multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and support colleagues and developing your own advanced practice skills and knowledge. We would particularly welcome applications from clinicians with a paediatric qualification.
Main duties of the job
The role is a clinical leadership role with the main duties of the job will include:
* Ensure the services are delivering high quality evidence-based care to patients attending with injuries and undifferentiated health problems. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner delivering care to our patients.
* Utilising expert diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning to provide autonomous, unscheduled care for patients presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions and minor injuries although some patients attending may present with complex health needs and / or acute on chronic conditions.
* The post holder will deliver care in collaboration with emergency services, other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies.
* To work in association with colleagues in defining standards of care and practice aimed at maintaining, developing, or improving quality.
* To work with the senior staff in the operational management and the organisational development of the service.
* Responsibility for day-to-day management of the service.
* Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.
* Communicate highly complex and sensitive information to patients, carers, and other staff.
* Deliver care within a culturally sensitive framework.
* Implement, carry out disseminate and evaluate service audits.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or Physiotherapist or Paramedic with HCPC registration.
* MSc / PGdip Advanced Clinical Practice / Physiotherapy Practitioner Primary Health Care.
* Qualification in Community and/ or Accident and Emergency / postgraduate specialist musculo-skeletal training at master's level or above.
* Independent Non-Medical Prescriber.
* Evidence of Management/ Leadership training.
* Evidence of teaching demonstrated by a suitable qualification or accredited experience.
* Evidence of continuing professional education and training at master's level.
* Further desirable qualifications in Primary Care/ Accident & Emergency.
* Experience working with Paediatrics.
* Recognised qualification in Minor Injuries.
* IMER or equivalent radiation protection certificate.
Experience
* Extensive experience in Primary Care and/ or Accident & Emergency.
* Experience in a clinical leadership/ management role within a complex healthcare environment.
* Extensive theoretical & practical knowledge relating to assessment & treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.
* Proven experience of utilising expert diagnostic and clinical skills to provide autonomous, unscheduled medical care and management of patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
* Experience of assessing and providing quality care to people with Long Term Conditions.
* Experience of team / service/ staff management including HR processes.
* Experience of implementing evidence-based care and developing others to do so.
* Experience of conducting research projects and audit.
* Experience in Accident & Emergency.
Skills & Knowledge
* Evidence of comprehensive range of clinical skills and expertise relevant to the role.
* Specialist knowledge in clinical reasoning, history taking, physical examination, diagnostic skills and prescribing/treatment.
* Clinical knowledge across a range of acute and chronic conditions.
* Knowledge of and experience in the provision of care to vulnerable adults and children in line with best practice of safeguarding.
* Highly competent in the physical examination of patients presenting with a range of clinical conditions and depth knowledge of pharmacology.
* Competent IT skills including use of Microsoft Office package, System One and email.
* In depth knowledge of NMC/CSP Code of Professional Conduct.
* Knowledge of Personal Development Planning.
* Knowledge of risk management and incident reporting.
* Detailed knowledge of Primary Health Care and collaborative working with other care providers, e.g. social care and voluntary services.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice and able to implement in practice.
* Knowledge of clinical governance processes, assessing and managing risk.
* Knowledge of clinical supervision.
* Experience on leading in a Research project and being involved in a quality improvement project or transformation project.

£59,490 to £66,239 a year per annum inclusive of HCAS.
