Exciting new opportunity within our Engineering team for an ETCS Senior Project Engineer based at Kings Cross.
To be responsible for the delivery of engineering change and integration into engineering BAU of the B3R2 European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS), upgrades, and equipment into fleets operated by GTR.
You will
1. Retrofit and upgrade ERTMS Systems are successfully implemented into operational service and engineering maintenance at GTR on the required fleets.
2. Retrofitments are completed on time for the GTR fleet where required as per ERTMS Project Manager's plans.
3. Delivery of system performance plan which meets business targets.
4. Ensure delivery of change complies with relevant legislation, standards, and processes.
5. Responsible for the ETCS project engineering team in developing all aspects of ERTMS onboard system engineering to successful project completion including:
1. Developing and managing all maintenance documentation, placing into use, route compatibility, engineering change for internal acceptance.
2. Determining the appropriate maintenance and repair techniques to fulfil system lifecycle for ETCS onboard.
3. Ensuring that changes are implemented in compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and processes.
4. Responsible for the development of robust, safe, and efficient maintenance plans with regards to ERTMS updated equipment which deliver value for money, performance, and service quality targets.
5. Responsible for management and safety of ERTMS Engineering Test Train activities and Test Train officer duties as required during system introduction.
6. Responsible for Integration of ERTMS onboard maintenance into BAU as a business change activity alongside GTR Fleet Engineering.
7. Completion of other activities as directed by the Senior Programme Manager ERTMS Onboard to support the delivery of GTR's objectives.
We are looking for someone with the following skills & experience...
1. Must be a chartered engineer or be working towards membership through a monitored professional development scheme, or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of modern rolling stock maintenance practices.
3. Knowledge of regulatory and standards framework in relation to rolling stock.
4. Knowledge of modern electronic system development and programming.
