Up to £55,000 DOE Surrey / Berkshire We are looking for a Senior Merchandiser to join a brand who creates contemporary, design-led pieces and are committed to sustainability and responsibility sourced materials.This role requires a strategic approach, ensuring range performance is analysed, commercially robust ranges are launched, and any opportunities for growth are both identified and actioned. Working closely with internal teams and their global vendor base, you will have responsibility for maintaining optimal stock levels across the business, ensuring that they align with forecasts, customer demand, and the operational needs of the business. Responsibilities will include: Lead and drive the merchandising strategy for the business Optimise stock levels and ensure efficient lead times, including container-level forecasting and order placement Work closely with senior management to align inventory levels and projected revenue targets, assisting the FD to put together company budgets and top-line forecasts Work closely with global suppliers to manage purchase orders and ensure accurate production levels Maintain a strong understanding of the market, key competitors, and trading conditions which may influence decision making Propose discontinuations, promotional activities, and manage price adjustments to optimise stock clearance Manage, mentor and train the merchandising team Put together analysis and reports for trade meetings, sign offs, and management meetings, identifying gaps and opportunities, and working with the buying team in creating new season ranges Look at ways of working and potential process improvements with the department to increase efficiencies Required skills & experience: Proven experience in a similar merchandising role within a consumer products business Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions Good understanding of the end-to-end buying and development process First class negotiation skills Experience within the furniture, accessories or homewares industries a benefit Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Detail-oriented mindset with strong organisational and multitasking abilities Experience working closely with factories and suppliers Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate and present complex data clearly and effectively A team player with a proactive approach who thrives in a fast-paced role and environment
