We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive individuals who enjoy patient contact and working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a quality service. You will work collaboratively to provide reception and administrative services to the department and more widely as needed. The Medical Secretary role is to support the smooth and efficient running of the Private Practice at our Bristol clinic, ensuring that presentation of the facility is of the highest standard at all times, patients are welcomed and looked after and that all administrative duties are performed in a timely way and accurately.
* To meet and greet patients/carers providing a welcoming environment and highly positive first impression of the practice.
* Liaison with consultants and clinicians to develop service culture and clinician satisfaction
* Ensure the smooth running of the reception area and consulting rooms
* Confidently manage busy patient areas
* Discussing services and products with patients and consultants
* Booking in patients for London based site as well as satellite sites
* Typing and formatting medical letters
* Completing referrals and diagnostic referrals
* Liaison with patients to develop service culture and patient satisfaction
* Managing clinic diaries and ensuring that appointments run to time liaising with consultants,patients and support team
* Creating invoices and collecting payments on the day of the patient’s appointment
* Liaising with insurance companies and following up outstanding accounts
* Working as part of a rota system to cover extended clinic hours
* Credit control for self-pay patients and attending weekly debtors meeting
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have great organisational skills and will be able to prioritise their workload. A high standard of work presentation and accuracy are essential.
Secretarial or Reception experience within healthcare is essential
