I currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join an extremely reputable, successful and growing business where your achievements and commitment will be appreciated and rewarded.
With multiple offices across the UK, this client is a innovative, forward thinking Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy working on a wide variety of projects within railway infrastructure, buildings, temporary works, bridges and geotechnics.
They are looking for a flexible, practical engineer who can grow with the company to achieve the goals of the business in parallel with their personal ambitions. You'll join a tight-knit team in a relaxed office, working with other offices and teams across different projects.
You will be expected to take ownership of some projects within your remit, interacting with the other Engineers and Technicians within your team.
**Can be based from their Bristol - Cardiff - Exeter - Basingstoke or Frampton office**
Key responsibilities for this Principal Geotechnical Engineer role:
- Design geotechnical structures in the temporary and permanent case.
- Design civil and structural schemes, providing input into schemes designed by other disciplines.
- Review and check designs/schemes prepared by others.
- Carry out inspections and surveys of geotechnical structures and prepare reports.
- Undertake feasibility/option studies.
- Preparation of project programmes
- Management of team resources
- Client liaison
- Undertake business development activities.
- Provide guidance and training to more junior members of staff where applicable.
Key requirements for this Principal Geotechnical Engineer role:
- Relevant engineering degree (BSc, BEng or Meng)
- 7+ years' of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience in using engineering software.
- Experience of undertaking feasibility studies.
- Chartered with a recognised and accredited body.
- Previous experience of managing a team/junior engineers.
