System Design Engineer
Imagine a role where your systems engineering expertise plays a key role in developing secure, cutting-edge technology that powers essential government and defense communications. As a System Design Engineer, you’ll lead the development of sophisticated Cyber and Information Assurance solutions that ensure the highest levels of security for critical data.
This isn’t just about overseeing the design process-it’s about rolling up your sleeves and getting involved from day one. You’ll take the lead in the systems engineering lifecycle, defining requirements, designing architecture, and ensuring that the solution is coherent across hardware, software, FPGA, and mechanical disciplines. Your work will be pivotal in shaping the future of security technology, from initial concept through development and verification.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, making sure that the system design is aligned with the overall project goals and that every technical detail is covered. Whether you’re involved in requirements engineering, technical proposals for new bids, or managing the technical delivery of a project, you’ll be integral to every phase.
What truly sets this role apart is the impact you’ll make. Your contributions will directly affect high-profile projects for the UK government and NATO, helping secure sensitive data through innovative, state-of-the-art technology. You’ll be part of a dynamic team of engineers working on real-world, high-stakes solutions that defend critical information across a range of secure communications products.
To excel in this role, you’ll need a strong background in systems engineering, with 5+ years of experience in the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, system design, and verification. Your technical expertise should span multiple disciplines, with particular strength in requirements engineering, UML/SysML, and DOORS. A problem-solving mindset and the ability to handle complexity with ease are essential. Experience in supporting bid activities will be an advantage but isn’t a must.
Due to the nature of the work, eligibility for UK SC clearance and sole British nationality are required.
If you’re ready to take the lead in a high-impact, high-security environment and contribute to projects that protect sensitive government and military data, this is the opportunity for you.
