Our Trust also has an additional Alternative provision school, a primary school and a special school due to join us this year. We are looking for leaders who are excited about working at an Academy Trust that puts social mobility and social justice at the heart of everything it does.
At The Mercian Trust, we are known for being a forward-thinking, diverse, and inclusive academy trust rooted in our local communities here in the Black Country.
Growing your leadership career with us
This career opportunity isn’t solely for one specific leadership role or school, but instead we are looking to put together a team of the most talented school leaders to really make a difference across all of our schools. We are keen to recruit leaders into identified vacancies such as Assistant Headteacher roles alongside leaders who wish to learn and grow into roles as part of their professional growth. This may include for example, preparing for future readiness to be a Headteacher by learning with, shadowing of and mentoring by current leaders in our Trust.
By joining this team of new and developing school leaders, you will benefit from a three-year bespoke programme of leadership development, coaching, mentoring and support, enabling you to sustainably grow your career with us.
Our Professional Growth and CPD programmes have been nationally recognised within the Trust sector, and we work with a range of the highest-quality partners to ensure that your learning journey is as comprehensive and valuable as possible.
Across your first three years with us you will have an opportunity work at a number of our schools, all located within only a few miles’ drive of each other in Walsall and Sandwell, and develop your leadership knowledge, skills and experiences. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your accomplishments as well as working alongside expert staff and engaged students.
We will be recruiting to these roles between now and September. All roles are permanent positions and will be paid on the Leadership scale. You will be employed by The Mercian Trust and initially work in one of our schools to best match your skills and development needs, and our schools’ requirements. You will benefit from the opportunity to experience the diversity of our different school settings.
By joining The Mercian Trust, you will be offered a comprehensive benefits package including; a highly competitive salary to reflect the role; a range of high-quality staff benefits including a cash-back health scheme, exclusive discounts and gym membership, and cycle salary sacrifice schemes; a full programme of CPD and professional growth support tailored to your role; and opportunities to broaden your skills and develop your career as part of a large and diverse Multi Academy Trust.
