Job Title: Process Operator (Water Treatment)
Location: Hampshire
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Process Operator to join our team working on a water treatment plant project for Southern Water in Hampshire. You will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the plant, contributing to the provision of clean water for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant Operations & Monitoring:
1. Monitor and control the operation of water treatment plant equipment and systems according to established procedures.
2. Ensure the plant is operating safely and efficiently.
3. Identify and respond to any deviations from normal plant operation.
4. Monitor and interpret data from the Site SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
5. Record data and observations accurately in logbooks and plant records.
6. Carry out routine checks and inspections of plant equipment and systems.
2. Troubleshooting:
1. Identify and troubleshoot potential problems with plant equipment and systems.
2. Initiate corrective actions as required to restore normal operations.
3. Safety and Compliance:
1. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and following company safety protocols.
2. Ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
3. Report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
4. Teamwork:
1. Work collaboratively with other members of the operations team, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
2. Communicate effectively and follow instructions from supervisors.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
1. Essential:
1. Current Water Hygiene (Blue) Card.
2. Experience in operating water treatment plants or related facilities.
3. Strong understanding of water treatment processes and technologies.
4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Desirable:
1. Experience with SCADA systems and control systems.
2. Knowledge of water quality monitoring and analysis.
3. First Aid certification.
4. Experience in a 24/7 operational environment.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
