The Role
The Field Engineer assists construction project team members in various areas, including preparation of field-related reports such as scoping, estimating, procuring, and submittals.
Qualifications:
* Some experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor
* Experience with estimating, design, and scheduling software highly desired
* Knowledge of construction means and methods
* Experience with blueprint reading a plus but not required
* Must demonstrate a strong ability to:

o Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, concise, and professional presentation of information

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired
Responsibilities:
* Project Support: Assists with daily reports and other field assignments; writing scopes of work and performing job walks; providing support with project buyout, procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment; preparing AutoCAD as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals; assisting Project Manager during bid negotiations.
* Estimating: Assists in the development of detailed line-item takeoffs and pricing; entering line items into Unit Price Book software using RS Means or other estimating tools.
* Subcontractor Support: Prepares bid documents for subcontractors; assembles subcontractor quotes for review; gathers subcontractor safety information; assists in tracking progress payments and invoicing from subcontractors; prepares subcontracts and other subcontractor safety information.
* Scheduling: Helps develop and maintain project schedules.
* Safety: Ensures compliance with Centennial's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.).
* Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or from the assigned office location.
* Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to construction sites, which may include various weather conditions.
* The physical demands include:
o The ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary.
o The ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
o The ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel.
o The ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach.
o The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
o Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
