Your role:
As a Tractor Driver/Gardener you will support the Supervisor with the effective delivery of day to day grounds and general maintenance operations including the operation of tractors and their attachments.
You will lead by example and motivate others to work to collective goals. Actively seek ways to improve the service, suggesting new ways of working and embracing change.
You will provide exceptional customer service, be adept at dealing with a range of customers, and be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Council when working in the borough. About you:
You will have knowledge and experience in an operational ground’s maintenance/parks organisation or similar environment, with the ability to operate a full range of plant and machinery relevant to the role.
An amenity horticulture, greenkeeping, groundsman or arboricultural qualification such as City and Guilds 2 or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience. You will have awareness of Chapter 8 regulations and how they impact on tractor maintenance and also the Countryside Act and how this impact on this service particularly relating to nesting birds.
You will be able to work well both independently and as part of a team in a flexible manner in order to meet deadlines and service demands. It is also important that you have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with both colleagues and members of the public. You must also have a relevant health and safety qualification and be well organised.
