We are looking to recruit highly motivated staff to work within our dynamic team and strive for excellence.
The Discharge Lounge at Lincoln Hospital is looking for a Nursing Associate to join our multidisciplinary team which specializes in safe and effective patient discharges.
The Discharge Lounge (DL) provides an essential nurse-led service in accepting patients on the day of discharge to release capacity for accommodation of acute admissions. DL supports timely and safe discharge of patients from inpatient wards, assessment units, and the Emergency Department (ED), thus improving patient flow through the emergency and planned care pathways by releasing inpatient bed and ED capacity.
DL provides a safe and pleasant environment for up to 18 patients to be cared for whilst waiting for the final elements of their discharge/transfer to be completed. We operate single-sex accommodation and are currently open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Main Duties of the Job
The nursing team is expected to deliver direct patient care while coordinating the discharge of medically optimized patients. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize workload. This role is patient-centric; an active interest in patient and family engagement is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to compassionately communicate with patients and families, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home or other specified destination; answering their queries and allaying or addressing any concerns. We are able to accept applicants for full and part-time posts. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.
If you are an enthusiastic nursing associate or a trainee nursing associate due to qualify soon, we are excited to inform you that we are now advertising for Nursing Associates!
ULHT is proud to have supported the training of Nursing Associates through their training and is excited to offer the opportunity to recruit you subject to your successful completion of the course. This will allow you the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise further once qualified and in your band 4 role. Once recruited, we will offer you a preceptorship and further development opportunities, which, as well as offering you the opportunity to consolidate your role, could provide you with a structured career pathway that could lead to you becoming a registered nurse in the future.
