Job Description
To support the early years team in delivering a flexible, high-quality, and inclusive early learning and childcare service which meets the needs of young children and their families. Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and other partners to promote the welfare and development of every child.
Responsibilities
1. To be actively involved in the planning and implementation of a curriculum programme which meets the needs of the individual child in accordance with national and local standards.
2. To observe and interact with children in order to support their learning and record and contribute to reporting on the individual child's progress in accordance with Council policy and procedures.
3. To contribute to the delivery of the Early Level curriculum in line with pre-determined policy and procedures and where appropriate the pre-Birth to Three framework.
4. To be involved in the delivery of an effective early years service.
5. Participate in all aspects of teamwork within the nursery.
6. Keep abreast of early years local and national developments.
7. To be involved in all aspects of care which meet the needs of the individual child in accordance with the Council's duty of care and the principles of GIRFEC.
The Individual
1. Experience of working with pre-school children aged between 3 and 5 years old.
2. Having achieved or working towards the following qualifications:
* CACHE (NNEB) / SCCEB (SNNB), HNC Childhood Practice or equivalent
* Or
* SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent
1. SSSC Registered (if you are not appropriately registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) prior to taking up post you must apply for registration within 3 months and be fully registered within 6 months)
2. Effective organisational skills.
3. Effective communication skills.
4. Ability to remain calm.
5. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
6. Ability to be flexible.
7. Ability to be actively involved with the children in all aspects of their pre-school experience e.g. playing games.
8. Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.

Starting Salary: £30,405 (pro rata)
£16.13 per hour
20 hours per week (Term Time)
Working hours: 09:00-13:00 Monday to Friday
