Key Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices. Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks. Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and conduct regular audits to monitor adherence. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on health and safety practices and procedures. Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and accidents, implement corrective actions, and report findings to relevant authorities. Health and Safety Inspections: Travel across the UK to conduct inspections and provide guidance to individual care homes. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents, and audits. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external regulatory bodies, such as the Health and Safety Executive, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with health and safety standards. Working from Home: Manage health and safety responsibilities remotely, including virtual meetings, remote audits, and providing support to staff via digital communication tools. Working in a busy people-focused environment with responsibility for Health and Safety in a multi-site environment. Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a highly regulated CQC sector. Knowledge and experience of working within the Health and Social Care or Healthcare sector. Investigating accidents/incidents, dangerous occurrences, and work-related ill-health. Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within the care home sector. Qualifications: NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate or equivalent. Certified in Occupational Health and Risk Assessment. Knowledge: Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices. Leadership: Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate the health and safety team. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve health and safety issues promptly and effectively. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently. Travel: Willingness to travel across the UK as required for inspections and meetings. Valid UK driving licence. Satisfactory DBS/PVG checks. Lone working safeguards.
