Site Manager

We are looking to recruit a Site Manager to join our Wessex Division's Construction team for a development located at St Marys, Blandford, Dorset, DT11 9PX.
The Role
The Site Manager reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of a construction development site, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective works while maintaining the highest quality of work and customer service.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Manage the day-to-day running of the development and provide clear direction to site workers regarding their responsibilities and targets.
2. Implement health and safety procedures, working closely with Bellway Health and Safety Managers to ensure compliance.
3. Motivate, support, and manage site staff, providing training and coaching to improve performance.
4. Maintain site presentation at the correct standard.
5. Deliver production requirements in accordance with technical and planning documentation.
6. Conform to building regulations and warranty providers' requirements (NHBC, LABC Services).
7. Update and send accurate production/progress returns to the Construction Manager or Construction Director as requested.
8. Maintain adequate site records, including reports, labour requirements, plant, materials, inductions, and health and safety records.
9. Inspect and ensure any remedial work is completed in advance of each NHBC key stage inspection.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
1. Experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager with a high-volume residential house builder.
2. Experience of effectively managing teams.
3. Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.
Qualifications and Training
1. GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or equivalent).
2. Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level (or equivalent).
3. Valid SMSTS certificate.
4. Valid First Aid certificate.
5. Construction Management HNC Level 4, HND Level 5 or NVQ Level 6 is desirable.
6. Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate is desirable.
7. Valid LOLER certificate is desirable.
Skills and Aptitude
1. Effective communication and listening skills.
2. Good administration skills.
3. Ability to work effectively to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Proficient IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
