We are seeking a motivated and goal-oriented Customer Service and Sales Advisor to join our client based in rural Stratford Upon Avon. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a strong desire to meet and exceed sales targets, and a passion for building lasting relationships with customers. As a Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving sales, expanding our client base, and helping us achieve our business goals.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Customer Service and Sales Advisor represents the company, both on the phone and face to face. You will be expected to identify new sales leads, work with customers to find their needs, create solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process.
You will focus primarily on managing and expanding trade accounts, while also ensuring high levels of customer service and contributing to team success. This role is heavily focused on trade sales and business development, along with dedicated time to customer service, teamwork, and supporting the broader sales team.
The position will involve working Monday to Friday 8.30am till 5.30pm (slight flexibility is available) and 1 in every 3 Saturdays which is worked from home. Salary for the position will be £28,000 basic with a competitive bonus structure, holiday entitlement is 25 days plus bank with the option to buy and sell 5 days and discount on company products for friends and family. Please note due to the rural location of the company, the successful candidate must drive and have their own transport.
Main Duties:
1. Answer inbound telephone calls in a professional manner and handle customer queries and sales from start to completion.
2. Achieve budgetary targets as set by the business at the beginning of the financial year – sales £, margin £ and margin %.
3. Complete accurate quotations at customers’ request and follow all quotations up in a timely manner to close the sale.
4. Meet all agreed response time KPIs as set by the business – call answering, email, voicemail return, live chat, eBay.
5. Using data provided (BDM, CRM, Orderwise), prospect customer segments – lapsed, dormant, down trading, trading and new. Use targeted introduction/offers to create a relationship with the customers.
6. Visit customer and prospective customer premises to discuss their business requirements.
7. Achieve a minimum of 60 proactive outbound calls per month to engage with trade customers and identify new business opportunities.
8. Increase gross margin by 5% compared to the previous quarter through strategic customer engagement and sales initiatives.
9. Ensure all trade-related customer interactions are followed up with accurate quotes, timely follow-ups, and CRM system documentation.
10. Open trade accounts for eligible customers, communicate terms and conditions clearly, and maintain ongoing communication.
11. Identify new business opportunities, such as product expansions or cost savings, and present proposals to management.
12. Regularly review and manage stock and product orders, ensuring all customer orders are fulfilled promptly.
