Working as part of the Practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will support the nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, delivering care within their scope of practice. The post holder will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of preventative care, health promotion and patient education. Duties & Responsibilities Urinalysis Preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine presentations: Pulse rate and rhythm Temperature Height and weight body mass index Routine and 24hour Blood Pressure monitoring Venepuncture ECG Administer vaccinations for flu, shingles and pneumonia Administer B12 injections Delivery domiciliary services in the community Provide support during minor surgery and women's health sessions as required Ordering/maintaining stock levels and control in treatment area. Prepare and maintain environments during and after patient care interventions Perform NHS Health Checks Ensure fridges are monitored and cleaned in accordance with relevant guidance Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session Support the in-house services for long-term conditions Provide chaperone services for patients and clinicians Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted and deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate Record information and activities undertaken with patients and carers in an accurate and timely fashion using manual or computer systems as appropriate Maintain confidentiality or information relating to patients, relatives, staff and the practice Understanding, following and implementing good safeguarding practice
