Description
This is an exciting opportunity to support the group accounting function efficiently deliver management information following the creation of the newest brand within the Ampa group, Ampa Group Services (AGS). This role will also be working closely with the AGS Commercial Manager (“AGS CM”) and ensuring that information is delivered efficiently to the AGS stakeholders. The role would be ideally suited to someone with 2 years of Finance experience and is AAT qualified or Part qualified with one of the following qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
What you will be doing:
* Preparation of the monthly cost reports, ensuring that these are accurate and any queries on analysis can be answered.
* Preparation of the monthly travel report.
* Identifying areas that are not performing to expectation and bringing them to the attention of the AGS CM as part of the monthly review processes.
* Supporting the accounting team with the weekly review of general ledger postings to ensure any posting errors are captured and corrected, and any accruals/prepayments are actioned accordingly in advance of month end, including posting of any associated journals.
* Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Responsible for ad hoc tasks that have arisen due to the creation of AGS.
* Supporting with the group subsidiaries accounting adjustments required to ensure the accounting records are accurate.
* Supporting with the maintenance of the fixed asset register and assisting with any fixed asset analysis required.
* Working with AP team to improve ledger integrity and monthly accounting processes.
* Working alongside business operations heads of departments with the AGS CM to ensure financial information is accurately reported following the monthly meetings.
* Collaborating and liaising with key stakeholders within the firm’s central Finance teams as and when required.
* Responding in a timely manner to ad hoc analysis and information requests from stakeholders.
* Any other support required by the AGS CM and Financial Accounting team to meet group requirements.
What you will need:
* AAT qualified or Part qualified with one of the following qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
* Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a busy finance department in a core accounting role.
* Intermediate-level Excel skills at a minimum.
* To be comfortable working across a number of IT platforms.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, credibility and manage expectations with senior stakeholders.
* Confident in prioritising workload amongst senior stakeholders.
* Flexibility and the ability to operate in a changing environment.
