Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a Coded Fabricator/Welder to join our client's dynamic team based in Stoke-on-Trent. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and time-served background in fabrication and welding, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. As a Fabricator/Welder, you will play a crucial part in assembling components and ensuring that all products meet our stringent quality standards.
Duties:
1. Fabricate and assemble heavy gauge steel and stainless steel structures and components according to specifications.
2. Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.
3. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
4. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
5. Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
6. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly stored after use.
7. Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve any issues that arise during fabrication.
Skills:
1. Proficient in fabricating metal parts and structures.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
3. Experience in welding techniques, particularly MIG and TIG welding.
4. Experience in heavy gauge steels and stainless steel.
5. Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely.
6. Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills.
Salary: Salary will be dependent upon experience and successful Weld Test.
