About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an insightful, experienced, and highly diligent EHC Assessment Team manager to join our SEND & Inclusion Services.
As manager of Trafford’s EHC Assessment Team you will provide an assessment, review and placement service for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) 0-25years.
You will provide leadership and be responsible for the performance management of the team. You would be responsible for mediation, liaising with the legal team and representing the Council at Tribunal where required.
As manager you must welcome a multi-disciplinary environment and work co-operatively with local managers from other agencies and parent groups with whom you will be supporting the work within the Local Area SEND Strategy and Improvement Plan to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children and young people.

To be considered for this opportunity it is essential the successful candidate holds a degree or equivalent qualification or possesses substantial experience in a similar post.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of the relevant acts related to Special Education Needs and the Code of Practice, upholding the principles of the CFA 2014 and associated regulations and statutory guidance.
You will possess excellent communication skills both orally and written alongside listening skills with the ability to present complex information to a wide range of audiences including school staff; parents and carers, children, and young people; senior managers; legal representatives.
You will also be experienced in the continued development and delivery of high-quality services, ensuring you lead, manage and motivate staff ensuring legal compliance as well as a positive experience for our families of young people with SEND.
