Our client is a fast growth business with their head office in Stowmarket, Suffolk. Due to their growth, they are looking to recruit for an experienced HR Manager to drive their people agenda forward. As this is a newly created role, there is plenty of scope to design, shape and form new HR best practice. This role reports to the Owner of the business and ideally would suit someone who has worked in a regulated environment, with a diverse workforce.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Provide generalist HR support
2. Manage recruitment, selection, and the onboarding process
3. Assist the leadership team with setting company values and culture
4. Potential HR System implementation
5. Manage a change programme, including potential further acquisitions
6. Defining, developing, and embedding a people strategy for the business
7. Managing the company's appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings
8. Ensuring that the company's policies and procedures comply with employment regulations
9. Review and implement a new performance management process
10. Monitoring various aspects of employee performance, such as attendance and sick leave
11. Assessing the need for training and arranging external courses or developing and delivering training
12. Handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances
13. Setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits
14. Complete payroll process
Skills, Background, and Experience:
1. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalise ideas
2. A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law
3. The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
4. Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement
5. Previous experience of establishing HR best practice
6. CIPD Level 5 or above
This position is based full-time in their Stowmarket offices, with occasional travel to other sites, depending on the requirements of the business.
